Chairman's Message

Welcome to the Queens County Republican Party’s website. This site will serve as the Queens GOP’s virtual headquarters. Please visit often for updates on Party activities, meetings, initiatives, to get in touch with local Republican leaders, and other useful information.

I am grateful for the faith and support of both Senator Padavan and Senator Maltese for my recent election to serve as Chairman of the Queens County Republican Party.  Indeed, I am very thankful to Senator Maltese who served as Chairman for the past decade for his gracious and vigorous endorsement and support to succeed him as Chairman.  I am equally grateful for the kind words I have received from GOP District Leaders, State Committee Members, and officials throughout New York upon my unanimous election as Chairman.  I was all the more pleased to meet with America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani recently and hear words of encouragement from the man that made New York City governable again and who made it abundantly clear that Republican management and Republican principles not only work, they can serve to usher in a veritable renaissance.

Clearly we have no greater priority as a local Republican organization than to preserve the Republican State Senate that last bastion of Republican principles in New York State. I am committed to ensuring the re-election of our own Senators Padavan and Maltese, fielding a competitive slate of City Council candidates and modernizing our operations and efforts. I have been focusing my energies on rejuvenating and growing the Queens GOP’s grassroots infrastructure, visiting local Republican clubs to discuss and share my plans for the future of the Party and work with all of you to unite and grow our Party.

When I first joined the Beechhurst Republican Club decades ago, at my first meeting the club’s President said the main purpose of our club is to elect Republicans, period! After I was elected County Chairman, I wanted to make clear that our first order of business as a County organization is, likewise, to elect Republicans and advance Republican principles and representation in all levels of government. In order to do this, we must find and cultivate Republicans from the grassroots level that can run and support competitive and successful campaigns.

In short, the Grand Old Party Wants You! There are certainly challenges to be met, but I am sure that by working together with the help and involvement of Republican volunteers and activists at the grassroots level, talking to their neighbors, distributing literature in their community, going door-to-door and making phone calls on behalf of our candidates, we will be successful in securing Republican representation that will fight for our values and concerns. We are reaching out to all the communities of our diverse county to spread Republican messages and ideals of low taxes, governmental accountability, and personal responsibility. These are values that have far-reaching resonance. Get involved and make your voice heard on issues that matter. Help us elect Republicans and fight for our principles.

To be successful as a Party, we need to stand for something and articulate these beliefs in a positive and constructive fashion. Thus, I have pledged to advance Republican principles and single-out policies and initiatives that deserve Republican Party backing, such as school reform initiatives that further empower parents, reinforce accountability and affirm and strengthen academic standards. I’d be glad to receive feedback from you on these or other issues that we as a Party should be supporting.

I am very excited about the progress we’ve made in such a short time. I look forward to registering more Republicans, reinvigorating our Young Republicans, and running competitive, exciting, and victorious campaigns in 2008 and beyond. I hope you will join us in this effort.
