Landslide Win for Ragusa and Piekarski in Republican Leadership Race

Queens County GOP Chairman and 26th Assembly District Republican State Committeeman Phil Ragusa and Queens GOP Executive Director and 26th Assembly District Republican State Committeewoman Gloria Piekarski soared to victory last night, soundly drubbing their opponents, Peter Boudouvas of Auburndale, who ran against Assemblywoman Ann Margaret Carrozza and Council Member Tony Avella unsuccessfully in 2004 and 2005, and Boudouvas’ running-mate, first time candidate Rose Spondello. An A+ for Queens County Republican Party Candidates School

On Saturday, May 12, 2007, Queens County Republican Party Chairman Phil Ragusa hosted a highly anticipated candidates school, fulfilling a pledge he made upon his election in February to make a concerted effort to recruit and develop candidates to challenge Democrat-held seats in the 2008 and 2009 election cycles.  The half-day seminar, held at the Adria Hotel and Conference Center in Bayside, was attended by over 50 GOP potential candidates, activists and Party leaders, as distinguished campaign experts and consultants lectured on the fundamentals of running for office.
